Cookies for a cause

Sometimes you do things because it makes you happy.  Sometimes you do things because they’re the right thing to do.  And sometimes, the two meet and you get to do something you love and it benefits a great cause.

I really love the Relay for Life.  I’ve done several Relays and always find them therapeutic for reminding me of what I have (good health) and what I have lost (family).  They remind me that there are bigger problems in the world than my own.  So when my bestest pal called me and asked me to donate several dozen cookies for her local Relay (which also happens to be my hometown), I jumped at the chance.  I do cookies for all types of occasions for friends and family but these simple cookies have meant the most to me thus far.  They’re the simplest cookie I have ever done but were the ones I worried the most over.  As you can see, I didn’t really need to worry.

I encourage you to do something that makes you feel good.  Be it eating the “ugly” cookies, making cookies for your church, a friend’s baby shower, or even a great cause.  And don’t worry that they’re not as perfect as you want them to be.  I promise that they’ll be as perfect as they need to be.

Happy Friday!!
